We take on very few titles — and give those few everything.

Oxter Press began in Oxford, but the name came the long way round — from Ghana through Belfast and Sheffield, the route its founder took to a fellowship at the University of Oxford, and the route traced in our first book, The Back Route.
We are a scholar-led press: everything we make — books, indexes, websites — is edited closely, set properly, and built to be read for years.
